Roland Schmid has over 14 years’ experience in tackling the problems faced by autonomous and semi-autonomous pension funds, having worked for a large pension fund advisory and consulting firm in Switzerland. In group life insurance, Roland held previous positions at two leading life insurers for over nine years, giving him a total of over 20 years’ experience in the area of occupational benefits. In terms of customer relations, he has personally advised public sector employee benefit institutions, pension funds owned by SMI companies and SMEs in Switzerland, Europe and globally, as required. He is both a member of the Chamber of Pension Actuaries and of the Examination Board for Pension Actuaries.

Christian Heiniger has over 15 years’ experience in advising autonomous and semi-autonomous pension funds. In previous positions at two leading pension fund advisory firms in Switzerland, he supported numerous public sector and private sector employee benefit institutions. As Managing Director of a pension fund advisory firm, he improved the service quality and expanded the range of services to include, in particular, actuarial reports, risk analyses, restructuring concepts and the compilation of reports and calculations in compliance with international accounting principles, in addition to related advisory services.

Parivash Kurmann has over 18 years’ experience in advising autonomous and semi-autonomous pension funds. She set up and heads Swiss Life’s pension fund team of experts which specialises in providing advice on complex issues and in stop-loss insurance solutions. Her responsibilities included designing and further developing Swiss Life's portfolio of services in the field of international accounting. She personally manages the specialist mandates of listed companies, in addition to those of complex collective institutions. Parivash is a member of the Mixed Committee of Pension Actuaries and Fiduciaries.

Ivano Addamo began his career in 1983 in the Actuarial department of Rentenanstalt. In 1988 he changed company to assume responsibility for key account portfolio management. During this time, he qualified as a Swiss-Certified Insurer. A year later, he began working for another leading insurance company as Head of the Group Life Actuarial Services department. In his role as a technical project manager, he was responsible for the development of a new IT system for the administration of the group life portfolio. In 1997, he was appointed Head of Group Life. Mid 2000, Ivano Addamo moved to Swiss Life and assumed responsibility for a large IT project in the group life business. At the same time, he qualified as a Certified Project Manager at the Swiss Association for Organisation and Management (SGO).

Beat Grütter worked for over eight years as a management consultant on a mandate basis for international companies in the area of banking and insurance. He joined Swiss Life in 2004, where he was responsible for the establishment of foundation accounting in the autonomous and semi-autonomous area with interfaces to administrative accounting and accounting systems. In this role, he was primarily responsible for business cases in the pensions area. Beat Grütter has been in charge of foundation accounting and administration for company foundations since 2007.
